Honey is mainly used in the kitchen and for pastry making, also for accompanying bread or toast (especially, for breakfasts and afternoon teas) and also as an additive for diverse drinks such as tea.
Being rich in sugar such as fructose, the honey is
hygroscopic (absorbs air humidity), reason why when adding a small amount to breads and pies causes these to harden more slowly.
The virgin honey also contains enzymes that help the digestion, as well as containing diverse vitamins and antioxidants.
